Senior Project Manager
You have earned your stripes. That much is clear. What you are looking for is an environment where that is recognised, and where you get the room to do things your way. As a Project Manager at Bliss, you decide for yourself what it takes to bring projects to a successful close. There are no hierarchical management layers: Bliss encourages ownership and trusts your professional judgement. Together you choose clients that match your expertise and ambitions, in a form of collaboration that suits the stage you are in, whether that is employment or working independently. And you are always connected to a strong network of fellow change-makers who challenge you and keep you sharp.
Your challenge
As a Senior Project and Programme Manager at Bliss, you are a partner in change on complex organisational and transformation projects. Bliss is moving away from the classic hourly-billing model. You connect hard project structure with soft change capability, so that solutions truly land rather than disappear after delivery. Bliss calls that the power to realise. Along the way, you deepen your expertise in process change, behavioural dynamics and the use of technology within organisations.
Alongside client assignments, you contribute to shaping the vision, developing knowledge and coaching less experienced colleagues. This is your field of work:
- You lead projects where process, technology and behaviour meet
- You translate strategic ambitions into achievable frameworks, clear choices and concrete steps
- You organise and speed up decision-making
- You bring stakeholders with very different interests together into workable collaboration
- You recognise resistance at an early stage and guide teams towards support
- You steer on results, not just on planning and delivery
Do you bring sector or client experience from outside the current Bliss portfolio? Then you explore together how to build it into new opportunities and propositions. Bliss is built together, with trust, enjoyment and results.
The team
You join a network of 55 Project Managers who each, in their own way, want to be the engineer of their own existence. What connects everyone is not background or job title, but the way of working. Bliss uses a holacratic organisational model. That sounds abstract, but in practice it means no traditional managers telling you what to do. Instead, there are circles in which you and your colleagues take responsibility for specific outputs. Every Project Manager works on assignment at a client and also chooses a circle in which to help improve Bliss as an organisation. That way you develop not only your craft, but also yourself, on themes that give you energy.
Bliss was founded in 2017 from the deep conviction that lasting results come when enjoyment and success go together. Change comes with peaks and troughs, and when work becomes too businesslike, it loses the human touch, while people who feel good in themselves perform better and deliver better work. As the engineer of your own existence, you dare to choose, you focus on growth and you get things done. That mindset makes your work more efficient, better and, above all, more enjoyable, especially when a change programme hits a rough patch.
Your talent
You combine sharpness with humanity. You steer on results, but never lose sight of the fact that change is always carried by people. You look with natural curiosity at how organisations work and why people do what they do. You are aware of your own influence and dare to look at yourself too. You ask sharp questions when needed and have the conversation, even when it is uncomfortable. You also recognise yourself in this:
- You dare to confront positively: you say what needs to be said, with respect for the person and the context
- You have at least a bachelor's degree (HBO or WO level)
- You bring 7+ years of experience in project management, process improvement, product ownership or project support
- You speak fluent Dutch and English
- You are fanatically curious: you ask questions, keep asking and challenge your own assumptions
- You have an open heart: you are aware of your impact on others, dare to be vulnerable and listen with the intention of understanding
Our offer
